this afternoon to honor detective sergeant loran "butch" baker and detective elizabeth butler. i would like to thank not just the thousands that we see here in this space right now, but also the many thousands that we saw earlier today outside, as the motorcade that we were in made its way here from santa cruz literally thousands of supporters lining the streets, ranging from children to senior citizens, ranging frankly from police to hells angels. there was every variety of people lining those streets, all standing, many saluting, many holding flowers or signs of support, and i had the privilege of riding in one of the family limousines and i cannot begin to express to all of you the amazing embrace sensed by the families by those supporters. well, kelly baker has chosen these verses from psalm 46 for our in vocation. god is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble. therefore, we will not fear, though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble, the lord of hosts is with us. the god o
